Sent me an OSMO which I used to update the firmware. How to tell what Version Firmware is in you Roomba. Here is How to tell what Version Firmware is in you Roomba • Robot Reviewsok. I borrowed Chris' cable and did an upgrade for my Discovery via the scheduler remote.

Long story short, I called up iRobot support and mentioned that I had ordered a new battery and was considering purchasing one of the new Auto Walls. But, in my research, I had read that I might need a firmware upgrade to change how the my 580 charged and for the 580 to work with the Auto Walls. About 2 minutes later the CSR was taking my shipping information and sending me out an OSMO. Figured this might be interesting info for some and old news for other but I still wanted to share my experience. So, here is what I based my line of questions on: If you look at the row for the 'Compact Auto Virtual Wall' it specifically states 'All Models are compatible but the following will need a software upgrade: Models 510, 525, 530, 532, 534, 535, 540, 550, 560, 562, 570, 580, 610, and 625.' This implies to me that they are adding the necessary IR commands to those robots since the 510/525/530/532 don't have the Zigbee transceiver. But maybe I am wrong about what 'software upgrade' iRobot is mentioning I would need for my 580 but I can't think of any other options on how that would be applied.
I also confirmed this with the CSR but I always take Level 1 reps with a grain of salt. Let me know if I am mis-reading something. Is there some benefit, do the AWs save on battery use over a LH set to VW? Because I am an alumnus of the School of Hard Knocks and because I like to fix things that aren't broken. But in all seriousness, I just want to try them out and have the option to use them in the future if I decide to. Interestingly enough I went to go reference this article again today but.
Oooops, all gone! So now the only reference info I can find on the AVW says 'Only compatible with Robot SKUs 51102, 53101, 53301, 53601, 54102, 55101, 55102, 56101, 56301 and 56502.'

I'm really sorry and I feel like a total tard, but I've read and re-read your post 5 times and I still have no clue what I'm supposed to do. Isn't there a simpler way to find out what firmware is on your robot, say with the serial number or something? My roomba is a sage with convenience pack that I bought from. Here are the registration details of my robot.
It says Roomba Club Pack, but it is a Sage with Convenience Pack (4110). Is there a way to find out from this if there is a new firmware for it or not? If not please someone explain it to me again in dummy-talk how to do the tests Thanks Moderator Edit: Removed the unique portion of serial number for users protection. Hello Atheen, There is no easy way to get the firmware version, besides this procedure, unless you connect to the Roomba to capture it's information (more on how to do it this way can be found in the 'hacking' area of the forum).
