The Driver was developed for Microsoft Web Cam, applied to LifeCam VX-6000, LifeCam VX-3000, LifeCam VX-1000, LifeCam NX-3000, LifeCam NX-6000 and was installed in. Vista and webcams and Microsoft Lifecam. Hello, are the drivers for the lifecam available for vista? Is it true that they will NOT be supported until November?
My LifeCam 1.4 VX-3000 worked happily on my old 32-bit PC on Windows Pro Vista, 8, 8.1 and finally 10:1607 OS. I recently had to buy a new PC with 64-bit Windows 10:1607 Pro, and when I tried to reinstall the LifeCam got a notification to the effect that my PC doesn't support this app.
Have read a statement in earlier posts that 'LifeCam VX-3000 is not compatible with Windows 10'; but that's not right in my experience. Is the change from 32-bit to 64-bit OS blocking the installation? Have read a suggestion in earlier posts to try running the LifeCam software installation CD in compatibility mode, but not sure which other version to choose: Vista, 8, 8.1?

Am reluctant to try to do this on a brand-new PC which has never had anything but W10:1607 installed. Is it likely to screw things up? Tried the link, tried the installation CD with every OS listed, but with no success. Then in desperation tried the tip in NickZott's post of 04/10/16 (in a parallel stream on this topic) to try. No software listed for LifeCam 1.4 but downloaded it for W7 32/64-bit for 3.2 - and it works for my 1.4, at least for video!
Haven't tried it for audio yet. OK, the cam was a gift some years ago, but it worked until very recently on Windows 10 32-bit; feeling angry that Microsoft hasn't produced a software update to keep their equipment running on 64-bit (am not alone in this! Windows Embedded 2009 Posready Multiple Personality. ). My next webcam won't be a Microsoft.
The insolent suggestion in Support that if you can't get the webcam to work just buy a new one is just giving your customers the finger.
Windows vista beta 2 installed flawlessly on my system except for my logitech cam. I understand they are not issuing drives until it is in full release form. I bought a brand new Microsoft Lifecam figuring it would install. I ran it in XP compatibility mode and looked like it would work but I got some weird message about not enough hard drive available even though I have a 500GB.
It just says it cannot go any further and stops. I'm absolutely amazed that a new product from microsoft won't install under vista. These cams aren't even supposed to be out till Nov. It works great on my other machine with XP. I seem to have gotten a bit further with the install now on XP Home.
I think that the lifecam software was prevented from installing by LavaSoft's Ad-Watch program (memory resident anti-spyware detector). Once I had turned this off I could install the software. My event log had lots of MSI installer messages about not being able to find certain registry keys. I think Ad-Watch was preventing these keys being written. Cfa Candidate Body Of Knowledge Cbok Pdf Creator. My guess is that you might have similar messages on Vista. Maybe your user doesn't have rights to change the registry or is there anything in Windows Defender that might cause similar behaviour?
